How to use Attributes in OpenCart 1.5x

There are many feature that the new OpenCart 1.5x has. However, some of the most important ones are those who have remained from the previous versions. Attributes are one of the greatest things for e-commerce in general and especially for OpenCart. This way you can add features for the products you sell and in the same time, you can help your customers to compare products based on their feature. Even more, they will be able to search for the things that they want based on the features that they need for a certain product. This is a nice thing and your visitors will definitely love this possibility. In this tutorial, you will learn how to do this simple operation, which will bring you more sales and a more accurate online store in minutes.
If you are familiar with the interface, you have to enter in the Catalog Menu and you have to select the Attributes submenu. From there you will have two choices, Attributes and Attributes Group. First, select on the second one, Attributes Group. There you will need to create a new group of attributes. This way you will be able to keep them more organized and you will not create a total mess on your website. Click on Insert and then choose the order. As soon as you have a group, you can go back to the Attributes and create a new attribute. You enter the name and after that make sure that you choose the proper group for it. Choose the desired order for your attributes and you have finished your job. Is not hard, but it is very important to have the attributes as accurate as possible. These ways clients will find everything they need in an easy way, and the user experience will be a great one.

"Even more, they will be able to search for the things that they want based on the features that they need for a certain product." This is not true, "Attributes" are stored in different table and are NOT searchable! Reply to this comment

How can we show attributes in a paragraph style instead of table format; for example, I have a book titled "How to Learn Computers" in "Books > Computer > Learning" category; and this book has few attributes like Author = John Davis, ISBN = 123-456-789-0, and Publisher = Global Publications; all these attributes are part of attribute group named "Book Info". Now, I want to show this information in paragraph style; and this paragraph visible only when this book's top category is equal to "Books". This paragraph will be look like: This book titled How to Learn Computers by John Davis published by Global Publications having ISBN # 123-456-789-0. Can you pls help me to get php code for the same? Thank you. Reply to this comment
